Hydraulic Reels HN with Supporting Drum (Type POPE)

Hydraulic reels HN with a supporting drum, known as POPE reels, are designed for reeling paper webs at a constant speed onto a roll, known as the reel spool. The revolutions of the reel spool depend on the down pressure exerted by the carrying cylinder, which is driven by a geared electric motor.

Design Features

Supporting Drum:

  • Can be made of cast iron or fully welded from structural carbon or stainless steel.
  • Equipped with an internal cooling system to cool the paper web coming from the PM drying part.
  • Includes a doctor with electromechanical oscillation for surface cleaning.
  • On the PM control side, features a fixed or free rope pulley based on the paper threading system.

Tilting Arms and Loading Levers:

  • Operated hydraulically and mechanically coupled to ensure uniform operation.
  • Designed to regulate the reel spool loading on the supporting drum for each lever separately.
  • Hydraulic dampers and brakes stop and control the reel spool in the end position.

Safety and Control:

  • Emphasizes work safety by preventing access to dangerous spots and squeezing points.
  • Control of all reel functions can be performed through a control board, either manually or in fully automatic modes.

Main Parts

  1. Bearing Structure (1):

    • Two steel-welded boxes, two stands with beams, and guide rails for reel spool rolling.

  2. Supporting Drum with Rope Pulley (2):

    • Stationary or floating design.

  3. Supporting Drum Bedding (3):

    • Provides stable support for the drum.

  4. Supporting Drum Cooling System (4):

    • Cools the paper web from the PM drying part.

  5. Tilting Arms (5):

    • For attaching empty reel spools.

  6. Loading Levers (6):

    • Attached to basement rails of the reel, ensuring precise control.

  7. Doctor with Oscillation (7):

    • For surface cleaning of the drum.

  8. Damper of Wound Paper Reel with Brake (8):

    • Controls and stops the reel spool.

  9. Reel Spool Starter (9):

    • Initiates the reeling process.

  10. Reel Spool Magazine (10):

    • Stores reel spools for continuous operation.

  11. Machine Control, Guards, and Service Bridges (11):

    • Ensures safe and efficient operation.
