Rope Threading System for Rewinding and Slitting

The rope threading system is designed for the rewinding and longitudinal slitting of paper web from the paper machine reel spool into rolls of required sizes.

Design Overview

The winding part of the machine consists of two rolls, each with its own separate drive. Key components include a hydraulically controlled ejector for the reeled-up rolls, a hydraulically controlled cross cutter for separating the paper web from the wound-up roll, and two evener rolls for evening effect and better deflocculation. The carrying roll guard bedding is controlled pneumatically, ensuring safer roll manipulation between the tilting table and the smooth carrier roll.

Both rolls are dynamically balanced according to the required winding speed and plasma-sprayed for durability. They are driven by AC variable-speed motors. The paper roll is guided laterally by mandrels that are pneumatically lifted or dropped and can be retracted hydraulically or pneumatically. During reeling, the paper roll is pressed down by a rider roll, which adjusts its load according to the paper roll’s diameter. This system prevents roll crashes.

Slitting Section

The slitting section is arranged based on the required width of strips, operating speed, and paper web type and width. It is controlled pneumatically or electro-pneumatically, employing shear slitting with tangential or embraced slits. Spreader rolls are used before and after the slitting section for proper paper web guidance and cross-stretching.

Key features include:

  • Direct measurement of paper web tension on the guide roll.
  • Dust exhaustion equipment to reduce impurities on the paper surface.

Paper Web Threading System

This system transfers the paper web from the unwinding stand through various components to the rewinder’s carrying rolls. It includes V-belt conveyors, chutes, air nozzles, a clamping roll device, and an underpressure system.

Unwinding Stand

The unwinding stand features a twin frame with two stands, reel spool beddings with locking levers, and an ejector for empty reel spools. It includes:

  • AC generator motor or pneumatic disc brake with air/water cooling, or a drum brake.
  • A clutch with a grooved shaft, pneumatically displaced based on the reel spool carrier.
  • Cross and longitudinal feed for correct paper web alignment.

Additional Features

The machine can be supplied with a complete electric installation, control system, automatic paper web threading system, dust exhaustion equipment, trimming suction system, and reel spools. The design and safety features comply with EU and EAC standards.
