Crescent Former for Tissue Paper Production

The crescent former is a wire part designed for the production of tissue papers with a substance weight starting from 12 g/m² on the wire (i.e., 14 g/m² on the reel) at a design speed of up to 1,500 m/min. Dewatering is achieved through centrifugal force on the forming roll.

Design

The bearing structure of the crescent former is cantilevered, made of stainless steel, which is resistant to corrosion and designed for easy and quick wire and element exchange. It includes a set of special troughs and covers for water discharge. A wire deflector in the front part is designed as a slip-out for easier cleaning and maintenance. The main component is the forming roll, which has a special cover that enables intensive dewatering between the forming wire and felt, contributing to excellent fiber formation. Other essential parts include elements for wire stretching, guiding, and conditioning.
